The gates of India's most talked-about jail are all set to open as Netflix gears up for the premiere of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa on June 27. Ahead of its launch, the streaming giant hosted a grand press conference, offering the media and fans a glimpse into the high-stakes reality show that promises drama, strategy, and explosive confrontations.
All about Lock Upp
The event brought together the show's creators, hosts, and contestants, setting the stage for what is expected to be one of the most unpredictable reality shows of the year. This season will feature 14 inmates battling it out over six weeks under the watchful eyes of two jailers. Unlike traditional reality shows, contestants will have to earn in-game currency by completing tasks to secure basic necessities such as food, supplies, and privileges. In a game where survival itself becomes a strategy, truth is expected to be the most valuable and dangerous currency.
The biggest highlight of the launch event was the unveiling of the first three inmates who will enter the Lock Upp. Actor Ram Kapoor, television star Shivangi Joshi, and Desi Bling breakout personality Pamela Serena were introduced amid loud cheers from the audience. Each contestant brought a unique energy to the stage, giving fans an early taste of the dynamics that may unfold inside the jail.
Pamela Serena takes a sly dig at Tejasswi Prakash
Pamela Serena, known for her outspoken personality, quickly grabbed attention during the interaction session. When asked if there was one person she would not want to see inside the jail with her, she dropped a cryptic hint that immediately sparked speculation.
"My only one hint will reveal who it is, 'shut up'," Pamela said, prompting laughter from those present. Many interpreted the remark as a playful dig at her Desi Bling co-star Tejasswi Prakash, with whom she shared several memorable moments on the reality series.
Pamela continued to entertain the audience with her trademark confidence. Referring to herself as the "Dubai Ki Komolika," she proudly embraced the nickname. However, producer Ektaa Kapoor was quick to respond with a witty reminder.
"Let me tell you, Komolika is my creation," Ektaa quipped, drawing applause from the crowd.
The fun banter continued when Pamela asked Ram Kapoor and Shivangi Joshi if they had watched Desi Bling. While Shivangi smiled, Ram politely admitted that he had not seen the show.
With intriguing contestants, unexpected rivalries, and secrets waiting to be revealed, Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa appears ready to deliver a season packed with entertainment from day one.
