Exclusive | Desi Bling's Lailli Mirza spills the beans on her deleted date scene

Desi Bling season 1 created significant buzz among audiences, particularly with fan-favourite couple Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra featuring on the show. In an exclusive conversation with mid-day, reality star Lailli Mirza opened up about behind-the-scenes moments, cast dynamics, deleted scenes, and what viewers can expect if a second season happens.

Reflecting on the fashion showcased during the season, Lailli jokingly suggested that the show could benefit from a style upgrade in the future. "I had the most personal style on the show, I put things together in a different way. Though we all had our stylists, I think we need to invest in better ones for season 2, if it happens. Surely new stylists are getting hired for a better style statement on the screen," she said.

Would Lailli Mirza ever reconcile with Pamela Serena?

Lailli also addressed the conflicts that unfolded during the show, making it clear that respect is a non-negotiable factor for her when it comes to Pamela Serena and her bond. "I take disrespect very personally. If you disrespect me off camera, if you disrespect me on camera, it's disrespect off camera," she said. The reality star added that she had little interest in forcing reconciliations for the sake of television. "The producers are like, 'Are you going to resolve things by the end of this season?' I'm like, what's there to resolve? She just disrespected me."

One of the most surprising revelations was about a memorable scene that never made it to the final edit. "There was a really juicy date scene. I went on a date. It got cut. Thank God," Lailli shared. Recalling the hilarious outing, she revealed that she attended with her sister Alizey. "I made him sing on the date. He was a singer, so I was like, 'Sing me a song.' It was my sister and I on the date because I take her everywhere. We were having the funnest time of our lives and trolling him the whole time." However, she confirmed that the date ultimately "didn't turn into anything fruitful."

Speaking about reality television, Lailli stressed that viewers often underestimate how genuine the experience is. "When you're filming, everything is real. The conversations are real, the action, the drama, it's all real," she explained. While disagreements may happen on-screen, she believes maintaining civility is important since the cast members continue to move within the same social circles.

Lailli Mirza on her bond with Tejasswi Prakash

Lailli also addressed questions about Tejasswi Prakash and whether she was ever unsure about the actress's loyalties. "I've just met this girl. I barely know her. I also couldn't gauge where her loyalties would lie or who she wants to be friends with," she said. Rather than expecting immediate loyalty, Lailli encouraged Tejasswi to build her own relationships. "I wanted her to explore her connections with other people. It's giving Love Island. You should be friends with everyone."

However, her perspective changed after watching the show. While filming, Lailli was unaware of conversations happening behind her back. "After I watched the show, I saw how hard she fought for me behind my back and that was really sweet. But I didn't know at the time, obviously. On camera, off camera, different," she concluded.
