Marvel fans at New York Comic Con received an early treat as Marvel Television hosted a surprise screening of the first episode of VisionQuest, days before its streaming debut. The event also brought major announcements, including a new live-action series, Zodiac, and three upcoming Marvel Zombies specials.
VisionQuest episode 1 surprise screening
The panel brought together cast members and filmmakers behind several Marvel Television and Marvel Animation projects. Head of Marvel Television, Animation and Comics Brad Winderbaum kicked off the session, which featured previews, release dates and updates for the studio’s upcoming slate.
Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Emily Hampshire and showrunner Terry Matalas took the stage to discuss VisionQuest. The cast revealed that attendees would be able to watch the first episode during a surprise screening, with fans also receiving an exclusive mini-poster.
The series follows Vision after he escapes those seeking to turn him into a weapon. While hiding and searching for a new purpose, he turns to the artificial intelligence personalities embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron.
His attempt to remain hidden is disrupted by a bounty on his head, forcing him to flee alongside Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be suddenly connected to Vision. As the pursuit intensifies, Vision must confront his identity and Ultron’s influence while trying to uncover the truth about his young companion.
The series also features Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan and James D’Arcy, among others. VisionQuest will stream on JioHotstar in India from October 14, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
