Mira-Bhayandar Police have arrested model and actor Rohullah Mehdi in connection with their ongoing investigation into an alleged high-profile drug syndicate, with officers now examining his social media profiles and digital links.
Arrest at Mumbai airport
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Kashimira Police laid a trap at Mumbai International Airport and detained Mehdi shortly after he arrived from Delhi on a flight on Saturday night.
Mehdi, a model and actor with a significant social media following, was taken into custody as police investigate his alleged links to the drug network.
Police probe digital links
Police are examining Mehdi’s social media activity and other digital connections as part of the investigation. Officers are questioning him to establish his alleged role in the network and determine the nature of his links with other accused persons.
The investigation is also focused on identifying the wider network and determining whether other high-profile individuals are connected to the alleged syndicate.
DCP Zone 1 leads operation
The operation was carried out by the Kashimira Police team under the leadership of DCP Zone 1 Rahul Chauhan.
Police are continuing to question Mehdi as they investigate the alleged drug network and work to establish the extent of his involvement.
