A Distinctive pair of toes proved to be the clue Samta Nagar police needed to crack five burglaries allegedly committed by two minors across Kandivli East in a single night.
Police said the boys, aged 16 and 14, allegedly targeted five establishments on July 23, stealing several thousand rupees and two mobile phones. While examining CCTV footage from one of the premises, investigators spotted the feet of one suspect and recognised him from his unusually shaped toes.
The clue led police to the 16-year-old in Malwani and, subsequently, to his alleged accomplice. Both were detained within 24 hours, police said.
