Few Indian brands have become as deeply woven into the country’s modern story as Titan. Now, as Made in India: A Titan Story lights up New York’s Times Square, co-producer Prabhleen Kaur is looking back at the years-long effort to bring that journey to the screen. “It’s been a very long journey. When we bought the rights to the book, we wanted everyone associated with the story to be involved. There were so many drafts and discussions, but gradually everybody came together and was happy with the final story,” she shares.

The makers worked closely with Titan while recreating the company’s remarkable rise, drawing extensively from factory archives and historical records. “The Titan team helped us immensely. They guided us through what would help tell the story authentically,” she reveals.
While Kaur did not interact directly with Ratan Tata during the making of the series, she says he was aware of the project. “Many people who had been associated with the Tata group for years felt like they were reliving a part of their lives. Many had worked with Xerxes Desai and Ratan Tata, and were emotional watching those moments on screen,” she recalls.
