The new season of Lock Upp has kicked off, and contestants are keeping viewers hooked with some spicy revelations. Popular actor Ram Kapoor is also a part of the show, and his 'entitled' behaviour has sparked discussion online. In a recent episode, Ram Kapoor said that cheating is not always a deal-breaker in a marriage. His statement normalising cheating has irked netizens, who are now targeting him.
Ram Kapoor justifies infidelity in relationships
The discussion began when fellow contestant Shreya Kalra asked Ram whether he would look for another relationship if he discovered that his partner had cheated on him. Responding to the question, Ram said, "No, you find the connection again."
During the discussion on trust and relationships, Ram Kapoor shared that long marriages go through several ups and downs and that couples should not rush to end a relationship over a single mistake. "If you really love your partner, nothing is a deal-breaker. Marriage is hard, and it's a journey. You have to work at your marriage every day. There are highs and lows, good periods and bad periods, strong phases and weak phases. In a bad phase, if by mistake something happens, and you can't live without your partner or your children, then time heals everything, and nothing is a deal-breaker," Ram said.

Akanksha Chamola, who was standing quietly and listening to his ideology, firmly disagreed with his perspective, arguing that infidelity cannot happen accidentally. "But sir, this doesn't happen by mistake," she responded.
Ram insisted that, at times, people do make mistakes. "Sometimes it happens by mistake," he said. Akanksha stood her ground and replied, "It's not a mistake. You are physically intimate with someone. That's a process. You have to take somebody's clothes off, take your clothes off, and then do it. You cannot say it's a mistake. It's not like I stabbed you by mistake."
Netizens on Ram Kapoor's statement
Ram's comment left netizens irked, with many condemning him. One social media user wrote, "I appreciate these unscripted shows; it shows how problematic the folks we admire are." Another commented, "Ram Kapoor really lost his mind." A third wrote, "Ram Kapoor has lost his sanity, I guess."
Several users lauded Akanksha for taking a stand. One wrote, "Ram Kapoor out here justifying cheating and then saying, 'Glti se ho jata hai.' I just can't with this man. But I really liked that Akanksha took a stand."
Another user wrote, "He might've cheated on his wife. That's why he's so defensive over it."
Lock Up season 2 is currently seen stirring headlines over contestants and their stints in the show hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan. One of the major highlights so far remains Akanksha confirming separation from Gaurav Khanna.
