Actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after shots were allegedly fired near a football turf in Juhu on Sunday evening, injuring his driver in the left hand. Another person was reportedly injured, according to preliminary information.
Police sources said three men on a motorcycle allegedly approached Shroff’s vehicle and opened fire as he was leaving the turf. The incident reportedly occurred between 7.15 pm and 7.30 pm. Fans nearby were recording videos, and footage captured around the time of the firing could help investigators establish the sequence of events.
Post claiming responsibility
Around five minutes after the firing, a post claiming responsibility appeared on social media platform X. It named Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu and alleged the attack was carried out after the actor failed to heed a warning. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang also claimed responsibility in the post, which threatened members of the Mumbai film industry, particularly those who defied its instructions or worked with actor Salman Khan. The post’s authenticity and its alleged connection to the firing remain unverified.
Police examine CCTV
Local police, Crime Branch officials and senior officers rushed to the spot. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and questioning eyewitnesses to identify the suspected attackers and establish the sequence of events.
Fadnavis calls police chief
CM Devendra Fadnavis called the commissioner and directed a swift investigation. DCP Mohit Garg confirmed Shroff was safe. The motive, identities of the assailants, and the social media post are being investigated.
