An unseen clip from The Traitors Season 2 has sparked a fashion-related controversy after Shalini Passi questioned Mallika Sherawat’s claim that she was wearing a Dolce and Gabbana dress. The two contestants, who are both participating as innocents on the reality show, found themselves at the centre of attention after the deleted footage surfaced online.
Mallika Sherawat's Dolce and Gabbana dress under close inspection
In the clip, Mallika is seen showing off a green shimmery dress to her fellow contestants. She reportedly described the outfit as a Dolce and Gabbana creation and appeared pleased with her choice of attire. However, Shalini later expressed doubts about whether the outfit was actually from the luxury fashion label.
Shalini was seen speaking to Shweta Tiwari, Rhea Chakraborty and Rida Tharana about Mallika’s outfit. She claimed that she had recently worn a green-and-gold Dolce and Gabbana dress herself and believed Mallika’s outfit did not look like an authentic piece from the brand.

According to Shalini, she had noticed the label while helping Mallika adjust her microphone. She alleged that what she saw did not match Dolce and Gabbana branding and consequently claimed that Mallika was not being truthful about the dress. Shalini also highlighted her own familiarity with luxury fashion, saying that she had been wearing designer clothes since she was around 17 or 18 and had several outfits custom-made for her.
Shalini Passi claims her dress was fake
Shalini further cited her experience with international fashion houses, mentioning that she had worn couture from Versace and Elie Saab. She suggested that she could share photographs of her own outfits to demonstrate her familiarity with designer pieces. Her remarks quickly became a talking point among viewers, with the exchange adding another layer of drama to the reality show.
The controversy, however, stems from Shalini’s allegation and does not independently establish that Mallika’s dress was counterfeit. Neither the authenticity of the outfit nor Mallika’s side of the claim has been independently confirmed in the reports.
The fashion debate comes amid an already eventful second season of The Traitors. The first three episodes have featured intense suspicion and eliminations, with Munawar Faruqui becoming one of the early contestants to exit after being wrongly identified as a Traitor. The actual Traitors were later revealed to include Kullu, Krystle D’Souza and Harman Singha.
Mallika and Shalini have also previously spoken about their experiences with fellow contestants. Shalini recently praised Shweta Tiwari but described Mallika’s strong personality as one that can sometimes make her want to step away.
With the show continuing to generate conversations around its contestants, strategies and interpersonal dynamics, the newly released deleted scene has added a fresh point of discussion this time centred on designer fashion and Shalini’s claim about Mallika’s green dress. The Traitors Season 2 is streaming on Prime Video.
