The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Thursday busted two suspected drug supply networks, seizing cocaine and MDMA worth nearly Rs 1.80 crore and arresting two persons, including a Nigerian national.
Worli operation
In the first case, ANC’s Worli unit team noticed the suspicious movements of a Nigerian national near Bharat Petroleum Company and intercepted him. Upon searching him, officials recovered 153 grams of cocaine worth Rs 1.53 crore.
Azad Maidan operation
In a separate operation, ANC’s Azad Maidan unit intercepted a man while conducting a drug crackdown drive near Simashulk Nivas Bungalow, Matunga East. The search led to the recovery of 68 grams of MDMA tablets, valued at Rs 27.30 lakh.
Investigating team
The Worli ANC unit was led by Police Inspector Santosh Salunkhe, along with Assistant Police Inspector Amit Ghogre, Police Sub-Inspector Mukund Jadhav, and other members of the team. The Azad Maidan operation was conducted under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Shailesh Suryawanshi, along with Assistant Police Inspector Pramod Awale and other personnel part of the team.

DCP, Anti-Narcotics Cell, said the investigation is now being widened to identify others connected to the alleged drug network. She said that the arrested accused are being questioned to establish the source of the drugs and identify other persons involved in the supply chain. The accused have been booked under Sections 8(c) and 21(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
