Before June came to a close, the industry woke up to Ramandeep Yadav, one of the two breakout performers from Prosit Roy’s Raakh. And before we’ve even reached mid-July, the actor has bagged his next. After his intense role as Rajjo, one of the perpetrators in the Prime Video crime drama, Yadav has been roped in for an upcoming horror comedy series that will première on JioHotstar.
For Yadav, the transition from a grim series to a light-hearted fare is exciting. “One of the things I enjoy most about this profession is the opportunity to step into different worlds, and this horror comedy offers exactly that. After portraying a character in such an intense story, getting to explore a genre that blends suspense with humour feels refreshing,” said the actor, who began filming the series in May.
(L-R) Ramandeep Yadav’s Rajjo and Akash Makhija’s Babu in ‘Raakh’ are modelled on Billa and Ranga respectively
The project will be released by the year-end. The actor added, “I hope those who appreciated me in Raakh will also enjoy seeing me in a different avatar here.”
