Mumbai: Thief speeds away in a BMW from Dadar`s top club

A BMW Z4 was stolen from the valet parking area of a premier high-rise club in Dadar on Sunday. CCTV footage shows the suspect arriving in a Jeep Compass, exiting the vehicle, and unlocking the red BMW Z4 before fleeing the premises. The car had reportedly been parked by the club’s valet staff.

Ruhan Khan, a businessman based in Bandra, filed an FIR at the Shivaji Park police station under Section 303(2) of the BNS against an unidentified person.

According to the FIR, Khan arrived at the club around 1 am on Sunday with friends and handed over his car to the valet. Later, around 2 am, two individuals in a Jeep Compass entered the basement, used a hacking device to unlock the BMW, and one of them drove away in it. When Khan requested his car at 4 am, after the club had closed, it could not be located.

In his police statement, Khan described the distressing experience: “After the bar closed, I was standing outside the club for some time with my friends, and later I asked the valet staff to bring my car. But it couldn’t be located, and despite searching the entire parking area, the car was not found.”

“Upon reviewing CCTV footage, it was confirmed that the car had been stolen around 2 am,” he further stated.

Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, representing Khan, said that the Shivaji Park police swiftly registered the FIR and are tracking the suspects through CCTV footage from nearby roads. According to Khan’s police statement, the car’s estimated current value is around Rs 80 lakh.

Advocate Deshmukh also raised concerns about security measures at the club, questioning the establishment’s alleged extended operating hours and reported serving of alcohol beyond legal limits. He indicated plans to escalate the issue to the high court, citing both a security breach and insufficient police action regarding the club’s operations.
