Pankaj Tripathi has always taken pride in his roots, often trying to do his bit for the farming community. The actor has now invested in Cultino Agrotech’s agri-tech app, Krishi Network, which has been designed to help farmers increase their crop production. Hailing from a farming background, Tripathi deeply identifies with the platform’s vision to help the community grow by solving problems at the grassroot level. “Being raised in an agriculturally rich household where family members are deeply invested in farming and other land harvesting practices, I have always been accustomed to the kind of problems Indian farmers face at the ground level. Lack of correct information is the root cause of these problems,” he says.
This is where an information-led app comes in handy. Krishi Network, available in Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi and English, empowers farmers by providing them necessary information — from the market price of commodities to new fertilisers, from educating them about proper storage of grains to enabling their transportation. “Educating farmers about the best practices, along with ensuring that their concerns are addressed, is the need of the hour. By funding an organisation that provides a mix of online and offline support in this direction, I intend to contribute to it in my own small way,” says the actor, who has also become the brand ambassador.
