A year after their chartbuster Genda phool, Jacqueline Fernandez and Badshah have reunited on the dance floor for the new music video, Paani paani. The number has been written, composed and sung by Badshah, with Aastha Gill of DJ waley babu fame joining him on the vocals. Though the video was shot in February in Rajasthan, the rapper held off its release due to the grim situation.
“Creating the song was an organic process. The moment Aastha recorded it, I knew it would be a smash hit. The song was shot in Jaisalmer, across locations that show the beauty of the Indian desert landscape. We waited out its release because of the tough times we have collectively been facing. Finally, now, we feel we should bring some happiness to people’s screens,” says Badshah.
Given their easy chemistry on screen, Fernandez was a natural choice for the Saregama track. “I sent the song to Jacqueline because she was my first choice. She said it can only be a Badshah-Jacqueline music video. It was obvious to have her from the word go,” says the music star, adding that he deeply admires the actor’s professionalism.
